Are you seeking a truly unforgettable learning experience?
Join us for this annual event which involves a trip to Italy, a country
rich in culture and history. The itinerary and assignments vary slightly
from year to year, depending on the sites visited, number of participants,
and contributing faculty members. With a strong emphasis on art history,
these interdisciplinary courses include a touch of geography, history, literature,
sociology, and a few Italian phrases. There usually is a photography component
(no prior training is expected).

Our most recent trip (January '97) included a 6 night stay in Rome, 3
nights in Venice, and 7 nights in Florence, with day trips to Pompeii, Padua,
and Siena. The cost, approximately $3,000, included tuition, airfare, ground
transportation, hotels, 7 dinners, entrance fees, and guided tours of some
of Italy's most famous and fascinating sites.
The course must be taken for a grade (not P/NP), but auditors are welcome.
(No fee reduction for auditors.) For further information regarding our next
trip is tentatively scheduled for late May 1999, please contact Professor
Maria Esposito Frank at (860) 768-4317 or (800)234-4412. |
