Transfer Student Information before 2009

I. Basic Literacy Requirements

• RPW 110 and 210

• Any mathematics course except M 118 taught by the A&S math department

• Foreign Language OR Oral Communication and Computer Skills
  • Students must complete:
    • through the second level of a Foreign Language (110-111)
    • OR
    • CMM 115 and a CS course.

II. Breadth and Integration: Distribution Requirements

• Humanities

  • Philosophy (PHI 110)
  • World History (HIS 100 or HIS 101)
  • Literature (ENG 140 or LIT in For. Lang.)
  • Additional English Literature, History, Literature in a Foreign Language or Philosophy (except PHI 220), AUCW or AUCC

• Arts

  • One courses from Art History (ART), Music (HLM), Cinema (CIN), or Drama (DRA), or AUCA

• Social Sciences

  • Any three courses from EC, POL, PSY or SOC, or two courses from the list and an AUCS

• Natural Sciences:

  • Two 4-credit laboratory sciences courses, or one 4-credit AUCT and one laboratory science course

III. Exploration and Breadth

• One writing-intensive course at the 200, 300, or 400 level (indicated by W following the course code, e.g., CMM 250W)
