Certificate students are able to begin the study of Art History or to fill in the gaps in their earlier education and experience. The Certificate strengthens an application to a master’s degree program in Art History for students who have bachelor’s degrees in other disciplines.
Requirements: 21 credits
6-9 credits at the 200-level: including ART 215 or ART 216
9-15 credits at the 300- or 400-level, to be distributed among four content areas:
Ancient or Medieval
Renaissance, or Baroque and Enlightenment
Modern or Contemporary
Non-Western (African, Asian, Mesoamerican, Islamic, Native American or other)
