The Biology Department offers undergraduate majors a program leading to either a Bachelor of Science or a Bachelor of Arts in biology, or a minor in biology.
If you decide to work toward a Bachelor of Science degree, you will participate in a strong program for pre professional preparation (medical and dental school) or graduate study in biology.
If you have a keen interest in biology, the environment, and natural history–but no plans to continue graduate or professional education–this Bachelor of Arts Program was designed for you. Fewer math and science courses make it possible for you to combine your biology education with other majors or minors.
As a biology graduate, you can explore many rewarding career possibilities in environmental agencies, agricultural occupations and research institutions. Your BS degree may also be your key to continued graduate study or professional study in medicine, dentistry, veterinary studies, optometry, or college teaching and research.
