Dr. Brian Dorn received a B.S degree in Computer Science (CS) from Northwest Missouri State University in Maryville, Missouri (2002), an M.S. from Iowa State University in Ames, Iowa (2005), and a Ph.D. from Georgia Tech in Atlanta, Georgia (2010). He joined the faculty at the University of Hartford in the Fall of 2010, and he teaches a variety of courses in Computer Science and Multimedia Web Design & Development. As an advocate of interdisciplinary research within computing, his primary research interests are in the fields of human computer interaction and computing education. In particular, his work centers on the development of tools to help people learn about scripting and programming both in and outside of classroom environments. His recent research efforts have focused on building resources that enable professional graphic and web designers to learn about scripting as they go about their daily work. Dr. Dorn is an active member of the Association for Computing Machinery and its special interest groups on computer science education (SIGCSE) and computer-human interaction (SIGCHI). He is also a member of the American Educational Research Association. |
