Dr. Esposito has been involved with Asian affairs for over 30 years with special concentration on economic and energy development and military affairs. In addition to serving as an associate professor of modern Asian history at the University of Hartford for 30 years, his background includes work for the U.S. Department of Defense, the Arms Control and Disarmament Agency and studies of energy in Asia for the Eastern Research Analysis Corporation. He was the editor of the China Energy Newsletter for over a decade and is the author of over 70 articles and reviews on China and Asian affairs. Dr. Esposito has made over 35 extended trips to Asia since 1970. After earning his doctorate he was a Lilly Fellow at Yale University and a National Endowment for the Humanities Fellow at Harvard University. He is currently an active participant in the China Seminar at Harvard.
