Professor Cohen's current main research and teaching interests focus on urban and regional economics; real estate; transportation, land use and housing. Professor Cohen has published in top-tier journals in his fields, including the Review of Economics and Statistics; the Journal of Urban Economics; the Journal of Regional Science; Regional Science and Urban Economics; and the Federal Reserve Bank of St. Louis Review. He has served as a Visiting Scholar with the Federal Reserve Bank of St. Louis many times since joining the University of Hartford, and he has continued this collaboration on issues related to the housing sector and airport noise, as well as other general land use issues. His research has been supported by the Lincoln Institute of Land Policy, as well as by funding from government and nonprofit grants. Professor Cohen has been at the Barney School of Business since the fall of 2000.
