Hartt faculty member Robert Black, performs Opus 17A, a work for solo double bass by the German visual artist, Hanne Darboven. This 70 minute Monumental Masterpiece of Minimalism will be performed in the Hartford Art School's Silpe Gallery. Around sunset as the light fades, a solo bassist tackles one of the most challenging and extreme works of minimalist music: Hanne Darboven's Op.17a toys with time, beguiling and hypnotizing its audience, and bringing the world to a standstill.
