Fall Weekend '99

The autumnal colors were at their spectacular best as alumni and parents arrived on campus for the University's Fall Weekend Oct. 15-17.

On Saturday morning, as the Cat in the Hat (Lesley Ehrichs Keener '87) read stories to alumni and their children in the Slobodkina Reading Room, parents of current students were attending presentations by deans and faculty of the nine schools and colleges.

At noontime, members of both groups swarmed over Gengras Lawn at the Fall Weekend lunch, except for alumni of the classes of 1974, '79, '84 and '89, who headed out to Stratton Brook State Park for a reunion clambake.

In the afternoon, alumni attended sports events while parents met with President Harrison. Later that night, they filled Lincoln Theater for a performance by comedian Steven Wright.

On Sunday morning, there were brunches for the Parents Association, for the classes of 1948, '49 and '50, and a Hillel-sponsored open house and bagel brunch.

The event-filled weekend concluded with women's and men's soccer games, both against Northeastern, and a women's volleyball match with Hofstra.?
