Distinguished Alumni Award
The Honorable Robert N. Davis ’75, assigned to the U.S. Court of Appeals for Veterans Claims, was selected as this year’s outstanding alumnus.

Commencement Speaker
National Public Radio’s Liane Hansen gave the Commencement address. Hansen, who attended the University of Hartford from 1969 to 1971, hosts Weekend Edition Sunday.

50+ Years of Graduates
To celebrate the University’s 50th anniversary, representatives from the Classes of 1945 to 2006 marched in the Commencement processional. Other members of the Class of 1957 also attended the ceremony.

Honorary Degree Recipients
The University conferred four honorary doctoral degrees at Commencement 2007. Two recipients were successful alumni, one from Barney and one from Hartt; the other two were a well-loved husband-and-wife team devoted to teaching and their community.
