2007 Distinguished Alumni Award

In 2004 President Bush appointed Judge Robert N. Davis to a 15-year term on the U.S. Court of Appeals for Veterans Claims. A veteran himself, Judge Davis reviews claims concerning service-related disabilities and other benefits.

A 1975 graduate of the College of Arts and Sciences at the University of Hartford, Judge Davis graduated from the Georgetown University Law Center in 1978. He practiced law for a number of years and served in several federal government positions before beginning a distinguished teaching career.

A frequent commentator in the media regarding national security, terrorism, constitutional law, and election issues, Judge Davis has taught in the law schools of Mississippi, Memphis, and Washington and Lee Universities, among others, and was a full professor of law at Stetson University College of Law in Florida prior to his appointment to the court.

Judge Davis is a commander in the U.S. Naval Reserve.
