The Provost is the chief academic officer of the University of Hartford. Reporting directly to President Walter Harrison, the Provost provides academic, administrative, and financial leadership for the seven schools and colleges of the University and all of the collateral service units that support its academic mission.

The Provost plays a major role in establishing and directing the academic agenda of the University, working directly with relevant committees of the University's governing board. The Provost assists the President in providing leadership for the University's strategic planning process and takes a leadership role with respect to financial matters in the academic arena. The Provost works closely with the Vice President for Finance and Administration, Vice President of University Relations, Vice President for Student Affairs and Dean of Students, Vice President for Institutional Advancement, and General Counsel and Secretary of the University.
