Sherry Buckberrough is Chair of the Art History Department. She spent over a decade in Paris researching French modernist art and has written two books and numerous articles on the art of Sonia and Robert Delaunay. She has developed over twenty-five specialized courses on modern and contemporary art, women’s art, design, color, art and sexuality, art of social responsibility, and landscape and eco-art. Having taught at the University since 1976, she received the Roy K. Larsen Award for Excellence in Teaching and the Harry Jack Gray Distinguished Humanist Professorship. She recently co-curated an exhibition of women artists from the collection of The New Britain Museum of American Art. Her interests also concentrate on contemporary ecological art. She is co-organizer of Park Water Arts, which coordinates arts and environmental events in the Greater Hartford area. |
