Joy M. Pepe is Professor Emerita of Lyme Academy College of Fine Arts, where she developed the Art History curriculum, implemented an Art History Minor, and was chair of the Liberal Arts Department. At LACFA, she received the President’s Excellence in Teaching award. She worked in the Painting and Sculpture Department of the Yale Center for British Art, and in commercial galleries in New Haven and New York. She has been chair of the Visual Arts Committee at Artspace (New Haven), and has curated recent exhibitions for Artspace and the Parachute Factory Gallery (New Haven). She participates as a juror for regional art competitions and for the CT Commission on Culture and tourism in Hartford, and gives popular lecture series on various art history topics throughout the state. Last year, she held the position of Professional in Residence in Art History at the University of New Haven, and this academic year is teaching various art history and museum studies courses at the University of Hartford, Southern Connecticut State University, and Albertus Magnus College.
