Erin Striff is the Director of the Drama Minor, housed in the English Department. She teaches playwriting, theatre, creative writing and dramatic literature. Striff received her BA from the University of Pennsylvania and her PhD from Cardiff University, Wales. Her play, Close Your Eyes, was published by Smith & Kraus in Boston Theater Marathon XI, after productions at the Boston Theater Marathon and New Works New Britain in 2009. Another play, irl (In Real Life,) was produced by the PlayMakers at their “Shorts” Festival and by the Floating Theatre Company in 2009. Her play, Skint, was produced at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe and the Sherman Theatre, Cardiff, UK. Trilby & Svengali, her adaptation of George du Maurier’s Trilby, appeared at Chapter Arts Centre, Cardiff. 

Striff is currently working on a novel and in 2010 received the Wesleyan Scholarship to attend the Wesleyan Writers’ Workshop, based on the strength of her fiction.  In 2009, she received the Mohr Scholarship to attend the Squaw Valley Community of Writers Fiction Workshop in order to work on the novel. She is the editor of Performance Studies (Palgrave 2003) and has published on contemporary feminist theatre and performance in such journals as Women and Performance, The Journal of American Drama and Theatre and New England Theatre Review.
