2018 Student Competition Using Differential Equations Modeling (SCUDEM)

Saturday, April 21, 2018 | 8:30 am–4:30 pm | Dana Hall and United Technologies Hall

The registration is open February 1–April 1, 2018

The University of Hartford will serve a local site for 2018 Student Competition Using Differential Equation Modeling (SCUDEM) on April 2018, supported by SIMIODE, which is a new program for undergraduate or high school students and faculty. During the competition, each team of three students intensively work on one modeling problem of their choice assigned for a week-long period, assisted by a faculty coach. Approximately 50 teams from the regional areas will come to the University of Hartford campus to present their modeling work in April 2018. Hwayeon Ryu, Assistant Professor of Mathematics, will serve as a local site coordinator, and two other professors, Mark Turpin and Dave Miller will serve as faculty coaches for our University of Hartford students.

For more information, you can go to the official website simiode.org/scudem/ or contact Hwayeon Ryu, PhD.
