Blizzard conditions are now impacting our region and a Connecticut statewide travel ban is in effect. The University will be closed today, Tuesday, Jan. 27.  Day and evening classes are canceled. An updated advisory on the status of classes and operations for tomorrow will be posted this evening. During the time that the University is closed, the Commons, Subway, and Village Market will maintain regular hours for residential dining services and the Sports Center will be open for use by residential students only. Dr. Lourdes Portales Dale, who joined the faculty in 2004, is a clinical child psychologist licensed in Connecticut. Her research is focused on emotion regulation, which she conceptualizes as having both a psychophysiological and temperamental component. Her research has focused on infants with these difficulties and hypersensitivities, termed regulatory disordered (RD). Her research has also focused on other factors that may negatively influence the emotion regulation abilities of children, such as the experience of trauma and viewing of negative content in television commercials. Lastly, her research has focused on the potential ameliorative impact of yoga for women with emotion regulation difficulties.
