Center for Student Success

The Center for Student Success (CSS) provides the resources and support necessary for a successful transition to college for our new students, and an enjoyable and rewarding academic and social experience at the University for all of our students. The Center includes information, guidance, and referrals in such areas as arranging for 1-1 tutoring, study skills, academic support services, mental health and wellness, career exploration and internships, financial aid and scholarships, Greek life, intramural athletics, and reminders about important deadlines.

In addition, the CSS will provide a client-centered, case-management approach for first-year students who are "at risk" of failing or leaving school. Faculty and staff are encouraged to call if they have concerns about a first-year student. The CSS is a drop-in center with no appointment needed.

Some Benefits and Services Include the Following:

  • Arrangement of a free tutor so that you can be academically successful

  • Assistance with time management to help reduce anxiety

  • Guidance about what club to join to be socially involved

  • Exploration of how to choose a major

  • Assisting with personal problems
