On February 21, 1957, a special act was signed that created the University of Hartford through the merger of the Hartford Art School, Hartt College of Music, and Hillyer College. A special site was developed for the University's 50th-anniversary celebration in 2007. Its various interactive features bring to life a rich half century for the institution.
