The University of Hartford has installed fiber optic cabling, wiring, and telecommunications equipment to all of the student residences on the main campus. All students have their own high speed Ethernet connection to the Campus Network and the Internet via 10 base T (twisted pair) jacks in their rooms. The completed project provides 100 megabit per second (Mbs) twisted-pair Ethernet for each PC or Macintosh connected.

All residence halls are also equipped with wireless connectivity.

Our network is designed to work with both Windows and Macintosh computers. While the University of Hartford makes no brand preference for students when purchasing a new computer, we do have some guidelines for performance to ensure suitable compatibility with our Ethernet network in the Residences.
