Teaching with Blackboard

Blackboard is an online learning management system (LMS) that provides ready-made online course templates for teaching online or supplementing face-to-face instruction. Blackboard allows you to post articles, assignments, and other course documents, and includes teaching tools such as discussion boards, blogs, journals, online tests, and surveys. In an emergency (pandemic flu, flood), instructors should plan to use Blackboard to continue teaching.

Blackboard course sites are created automatically for all scheduled courses. You will receive instructions for logging in to Blackboard when you apply for University e-mail.  New instructors are encouraged to attend a seminar on Getting Started with Blackboard. For a schedule of seminars, as well as other resources on Blackboard, please visit the FCLD website.
