Returning Students Arrival Guide

Welcome back! A move-in guide will be mailed to your permanent home address. The move-in guide includes a parking pass, which must be hung on your rearview mirror to gain access to campus during move-in. Move-in will begin at Gengras Student Union, where you must have your student ID to pick up keys before proceeding to unload.

It is important that you adhere to the move-in schedule times for your assigned residence hall. Arriving earlier than your assigned time will not mean that you will be allowed to move into your hall early. The roadway to the residence halls will be one-way and have limited access. These arrival times have been specifically designed for the least congestion possible. Your patience and cooperation are greatly appreciated. Any questions can be directed to us at 860.768.7792 or email us at

What happens when you arrive on campus?

Please have your move-in parking pass hanging from your rearview mirror before you arrive.

Enter at the Bloomfield Avenue campus main entrance (with the stop light). You will be directed to park, and then walk to Gengras Student Union to check in. Please bring your student ID to check in.

You will receive your room keys and then return to your car. You must wait for Public Safety to release you from the parking lot before proceeding to the residence hall area.  You will be released as space becomes available for unloading, so please exercise patience. After unloading, you will be directed to another parking lot to leave your car.

The roadway around the University will be one-way during move-in, so you must leave campus via Mark Twain Drive.
