AUCA 130 -- The Italian Renaissance

AUCA 130 is an interdisciplinary course which explores various aspects of Italian culture in the period spanning from the end of the 14th to the middle of the 16th century.

Through films, slide shows and music, the course will focus on the innovative and creative trends of the age in politics, the visual arts, belles lettres, ethics, and science. Together with the achievements of high culture, the lectures will contextualize issues dealing with Renaissance family, gender and sexuality. Guest lecturers specializing in the fields of religion, art, and science of the Italian Renaissance will participate in the class, bringing their expertise to AUCA 130.
