This integrative course examines what we know about being male and female from a variety
of sources including academic, religious, cultural and political perspectives. Students
will be introduced to new insights through a combination of readings, presentations by
experts and multimedia materials. In addition, student participation in the form of
a variety of interactive exercises will be encouraged. These include role playing, group
presentations (e.g. skits, videos, performances, etc.), and small group discussions. You
will be given the opportunity to develop critical thinking and writing skills as you
explore gender issues.
