This program is the first dual degree program in Connecticut in engineering and management, enabling full- and part-time graduate students to earn both a Master of Engineering (M.Eng.) and a Master of Business Administration (M.B.A.) by taking a total of 63 credits. This is 18 fewer credits than if the degrees were pursued separately. This program is called Excellence in Engineering and Management, E2M.
This is a unique, three-way partnership between the Barney School of Business and the College of Engineering, Technology, and Architecture, and extends to third party-businesses in Greater Hartford. Coursework at the Barney School includes applied projects, for which students formulate marketing and business plans for area companies.
Applicants must apply and be accepted to the graduate programs of both schools to participate in this program.
Also, once enrolled, students must complete all coursework in both schools in order to obtain the the degrees. The degrees are not awarded separately if the coursework of one of the schools is completed before the other.
