Andrew Henry is Recognized at the State Capital on Immigrant’s Day

Barney senior Andrew Henry was awarded the Angela R. Anderson Memorial Award at the 2015 Connecticut Immigrant Day Ceremony on April 21st at the State Capital.  Ms. Anderson was a dedicated and energetic leader who promoted immigrant and refugee rights in Connecticut.  She was remarkably committed to helping new Americans rebuild their lives. Angela brought enthusiasm and resourcefulness to her work. She also made an impact on those she helped and those who were fortunate to work with her.

Andrew was given the award because he demonstrated Angela’s drive and dedication while working as an intern at Jewish Federation Association of Connecticut (JFACT) during the last two semesters.  He was nominated for the award by Robert Fishman, the President of the Connecticut Immigrant & Refugee Coalition, who is also the Executive Director of JFACT. Andrew was deeply involved in the preparation of JFACT’s events, including their participation in Connecticut Immigrant Day.  Andrew will be graduating with a degree in Management from the Barney School on Commencement day, May 17.
