Scott Bannell is the Vice President of Brand Management & Licensing for Stanley Black & Decker and is based in their headquarters in New Britain, CT. In his role, he is responsible for brand management and positioning, corporate sponsorships, brand marketing, social media, public relations, brand research and brand licensing.

Scott earned his MBA at the Barney School in 1987.  Before earning his degree he worked at Barney School corporate partner Stanley Black & Decker, and has been with the company ever since, accumulating over 40 years of service. During that time, he has held a series of marketing assignments of increasing responsibility, culminating in the corporate brand marketing leadership role, which he assumed in 1997.

Scott travels extensively (100-150 days a year) all over the world. As part of his role, he hosts several large events with the company’s top clients, including professional soccer, race car, super bowl, golf, and rodeo events. Mr. Bannell began his career with Stanley Black & Decker as an Intern and in the 41 years he has been with the company has held 17 different jobs of increasing responsibility.

During his career he has done as much to strengthen Stanley Black & Decker’s brands as anyone in recollection and will be leaving them stronger and healthier than ever when he retires in 2016.  Scott exemplifies what it means to be a Stanley Black & Decker ambassador. He embodies the company’s leadership qualities, and has unselfishly and continuously focused on ways to improve the company by employing a collaborative, team-oriented management style. He has had a profoundly positive impact on the company, its brands and the numerous colleagues with whom he has worked.

Scott has been a guest speaker at the Barney School, and has been active in many area nonprofits such as the Bushnell Center for the Performing arts, Hartford Area Habitat for Humanity, and the United Way of Central and Northeast CT.
