Gentile is the retired chairman of Gerber Scientific, Inc., where he began working in 1963. He has been a member of the company's Board of Directors since 1989. Gentile was awarded an honorary degree from the University of Hartford in 2007, and he is an honorary regent of the University.
Cordani became president and CEO of CIGNA Corporation on Jan. 1, 2010. He previously served as president of CIGNA HealthCare, a position he held since July 2005. He has held several other positions at the company as well, including senior vice president and CFO of CIGNA HealthCare. Prior to CIGNA, Cordani was with Coopers & Lybrand.
"Remember, there is no future in saying something can't be done," said Gentile. "The future is in making it happen."
