Admission to the Barney School is competitive and selective. Although applications are accepted on a rolling basis, meaning there are no application deadlines and applications will be continually reviewed, it is important to submit your materials early, since there are a limited number of students accepted into the program. The One Year MBA follows the cohort model, accepting approximately 25 students each Fall term.

When applying to the MBA program, students should state their intent to become a part of the One Year Cohort MBA program to reserve their place for the upcoming academic year. After completing the prerequisite courses of the Core curriculum, either through online courses or taking them on-site at the University, those students would then move into the One Year Cohort MBA for the next Fall semester.

Students may also begin on the MBA track, and decide that a faster paced degree is a better fit. Those students, after completing the Core courses, may make the request at the Office of Academic Services, to be transferred into the One Year Cohort MBA.

Admission Standards

The Barney School adheres to the standards of the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business – International (AACSB) and reserves admission to the students showing high promise of success in postgraduate business study. To assess the potential of candidates for admission, the school looks carefully at scores on the GMAT or GRE and performance in undergraduate and other graduate programs. In addition, it will review professional and academic recommendations, as well as, the motivation of the applicant as evidenced in the letter of intent. All application materials must be submitted prior to initial registration for a class. We do not offer conditional acceptance into the program.

The list of application requirements for domestic and international students may be found here:
