Faculty Accolades and Awards

Each year we recognize some of our top-performing faculty. Five Barney School of Business faculty members recently were honored with 2017 Faculty Awards.

Faculty Excellence Awards for teaching, professional development, and service were determined by peer review.  For 2017, the following three faculty were received Faculty Excellence Awards:

  • Faculty Excellence Award—Teaching: Dr. Lillian Kamal      Associate Professor of Economics
  • Faculty Excellence Award—Professional Development:  Dr. Deborah Kidder, Professor of Management and Chair, Management, Marketing and Entrepreneurship Department
  • Faculty Excellence Award—Service: Dr. Jerry Katrichis, Professor of Marketing

The High Impact Faculty and an Outstanding Advisor award are both determined based on input from Barney School of Business students. The 2017 following winners were selected:

  • High Impact Faculty: James Peta, Lecturer of Quantitative Methods
  • Outstanding Advisor: Dr. Daphne Berry, Assistant Professor of Management

In addition, Dr. Daphne Berry was awarded the University’s 2017 Belle K. Ribicoff Junior Faculty Prize. This prestigious prize recognizes excellence in teaching, scholarly or creative activity, and service.  And Dr. Carmen Cotei is the recipient of the George Ansley Chair in Finance for 2017-20.
