From where you sit, the thought of a business degree may be intimidating but the University of Hartford’s Barney School of Business has you covered. Our Exploring Career Options (BAR 211) course helps students prepare for careers by exploring professional and industry alternatives. Each week speakers – most of whom are successful Barney alumni – come to class and share their career journeys and offer guidance to help you with yours. Students have lunch with the speakers, forging closer ties while practicing their business etiquette skills.
Each semester we offer a menu of professional development workshops and events. You will become skilled at everything from resume and letter writing to interviewing and networking. Whether it’s a quick “elevator pitch,” Skype screening call, or on-site interviews, you will be ready to tell your story with confidence and ease. Not only will you be competent, you will project that confidently to those you want to impress.
