Introduction to Quantitative Methods for Business

Bharat R. Kolluri is Professor, Department of Economics, Finance, and Insurance at the University of Hartford. He also  taught at Andhra University in India and at the State University of New York at Buffalo.  Dr. Kolluri has presented papers in a
number of professional organizations including American Economic Association, Econometric Society Meetings and others. His current research activity deals with Interest Elasticity of Savings among US households, Linkages between US and some Asian Equity Markets, Interrelationships between Stock and bond Markets in India.

Recent Achievements and Honors:
Invited to deliver an address during the Inaugural session of the 2nd International Conference on India 2020, Vision for the Financial Sector, Delhi, March 10-11, 2014. The address is on the topic, “The Anatomy of the 2007-09 U.S. Great Recession, Policy Responses, and the impact on Emerging Markets”, jointly written with Prof. Kamal.

The 2008 article from the Review of Quantitative Finance and Accounting was reviewed and abstract was published in the CFA Digest, November 2008 Vol. 38, No. 4:17-19.

Dr. Kolluri’s comments were published in the lead article “Six Defenses Against Inflation” for Forbes’ special issue on “Intelligent Investing”.  Forbes, Nov 10, 2008.

External Examiner for a PhD thesis entitled “Corporate Governance and Financial Performance of Sri Lankan Listed Companies 2006-2010, The University of Waikato, New Zealand, Spring 2012.

Based on the recommendation of the Faculty Committee, the University bestowed the prestigious Bent Award for Scholarship/Creativity to Dr. Kolluri at Commencement on May 16, 2004.

Served as the department Chair at Barney for about 20 years 3/1990-12/2010.
