Description:

This course will explore the development and nature of the Latin language, from before the age of the Empire to the present time. Beginning with an exploration of the historical evolution of Latin from its Indo-European roots, as well as its competition with the other Italic languages, to look at the role and place of Latin in the modern world, and discuss the various futures that it may face.
