JANUARY 2014

  • 23rd:  The Hartford's Campus Case Competition.  Final date to place your application on CareerBridge. DEADLINE HAS BEEN EXTENDED TO FEB. 4TH.
  • 27th:  Express to Success.  Application deadline!
  • 28th:  CETA and the Construction Institute will present a panel discussion entitled How to Present your Best Self to Prospective Employers.  Offered from 12:15–1:30 pm in UT320, this presentation will feature representatives from member companies of the Construction Institute, experienced interviewers from CETA, and Career Services professionals who will discuss best practices for and offer tips on résumé writing, interviewing, developing a personal brand and image, and preparing for and attending a Career Fair.
  • 29th:  College2Career Expo. Don't miss the largest college career fair in the Hartford area.  Event to be held at Rentschler Field in East Hartford from 10 a.m.–3 p.m.  University of Hartford students should register on CareerBridge if requiring transportation to the event.

FEBRUARY 2014

  • 3rd–14th:  CETA and the Construction Institute will sponsor a two-week Mock Interview Program  when employees of CI member companies will conduct and provide feedback on practice interviews with individual students. Email baronas@hartford.edu for more information.
  • 3rd–14th:  Express to Success.  Interviews to be held.
  • 4th:  Target Information Session.  Target representatives will be discussing internship and full-time career opportunities, providing you with an inside look at the Company and giving you the inside scoop on how to be successful in our interview process.  This event will start at 4:30 p.m., in the Career Services Office, GSU 309.  Please register for the event on CareerBridge.
  • 4th: Countdown to Graduation. This event will give all graduating seniors an opportunity to make sure they are prepared for commencement.  Join us in Suisman Lounge anytime between 9–2 p.m.

  • 25th: Pre-Law Event.  come learn about the process of how to apply to law school and what admissions representatives look for in applicants.  This event is open to ALL STUDENTS in room A 423 from 3:55–4:45 p.m.
  • 25th:  Hillyer Sophomore Advising Fair.  For Hillyer sophomores in need of a major or considering a change.  Career Services is teaming up with advisors from all colleges to aid in decisions of a major.  Event to be held from 10 a.m.–2 p.m. in Regents Commons in Hillyer.
  • 25th:  JumpStart 3, LinkedIn and Social Media. Seniors, give us 45 minutes of your time and we will give you quick, practical, useful tips to get you career search ready!  Event to be held from 3–3:45 p.m. in GSU 333.
  • 26th:  The Hartford's Campus Case Competition Presentations!  Event held in the 1877 Club from 2–6 p.m. in Room C.

MARCH 2014

  • 8th:  Northwestern Mutual's Internship Program Networking Event.  Meet other students who are already working in the program and speak with former college interns who are now full-time Financial Representatives.  Join us in the Arena at the Mohegan Sun Casino and Resort.  Event includes watching the American Athletic Conference Women's Basketball Tournament Quarter-finals in the luxury sky box!  To register for this "invitation only" event, please contact Jodi Culbertson at jodi.culbertson@nmcom. The event takes place from 1:30–4 p.m.
  • 11th: Principal Panel.  Education majors, come meet with local education professionals and gain valuable feedback.  Event takes place 5–6:30 p.m., and location is GSU 335.
  • 12th:  Mock Interview Session for BSB undergrads.  Sessions conducted by the Director of Finance, Schuco USA L.L.L.P.  Sessions available between 1 and 4 pm.  Please pre-register on CareerBridge.

APRIL 2014

  • 4th:  Goldman Sachs 2014 Women's Leadership Camp. A one day program for current undergraduate freshman and sophomore women of all majors who are interested in learning more about the financial services industry and summer internship opportunities at the firm.  The program will include an overview of the firm's history and culture, career workshops and networking opportunities. This event will be held from 8 a.m.–7 p.m. at the Goldman Sachs Headquarters, New York. You must apply via the link above.  Selected participants will be notified by March 21st.  Please note:  Goldman Sachs will provide travel and hotel accommodation.
  • 7th:  A Panel of Helping Professionals. Professionals from programs such as school psychology, counseling, social work, and organizational psychology will discuss their advanced degrees and career options available in the field of psychology.  Sponsored by Psi Chi, the Department of Psychology, and Career Services.  Event will be held in the Shaw Center from 6–7 p.m.
  • 7th:  Attention CETA Students!  Mock interviews with Kaman Aerospace Group.  Limited seating.  Three slots, 9, 10, and 11 a.m.  Interviews held at Kaman Aerospace, 1332 Blue Hills Avenue, Bloomfield, CT.  Please register on CareerBridge.
  • 15th:  Are You LinkedIn?  This seminar is FREE to all University of Hartford students (with valid ID) and $10 for all faculty and staff.  The seminar will feature speaker and professor of communications and social media, Joseph Catrino.  Participants will learn the keys to being noticed on LinkedIn and creating the perfect profile!  All attendees will also receive FREE PROFESSIONAL HEADSHOTS (valued at $75).  This seminar will be held from 5:30–7:45 in Konover Campus Center.
