manzione and race teamThe CETA fSAE Race Car Team brought the car to the legendary Lime Rock race course in Lakeville, CT for its final check out before they pack it in the trailer for the drive to the national competition in Detroit, MI on May 10-13, 2017. Dean Lou Manzione, a car enthusiast, was invited by the team to join them at the track for the final tune-up and test. The car has to compete in a number of different challenges including acceleration, endurance, handling and lap time. Built to exact specifications that change each year, the car is extensively engineering using advanced applications software, and then built to high quality and precision standards. Performance was excellent providing hope for a successful showing in Detroit where approximately 100 colleges of engineering will participate. The experience the students receive from this program is invaluable for their professional careers.
