Senior UTC Vice President Visits the Center for Manufacturing and Metrology

Dr. J. Michael McQuade, Senior Vice President for Science and Technology at United Technologies Corporation visited the Center for Manufacturing and Metrology on March 31 and discussed opportunities for cooperative work in the areas of supplier quality and failure analysis. This is Dr. McQuade’s first visit after he inaugurated the metrology lab in 2012. As of August 2017, the Center for Manufacturing and Metrology has run short courses on Fundamentals of Metrology for seven cohorts and is scheduled to offer three more by December 2017. The center has also offered and offers services in the area of electron microscopy and failure analysis.

Dr. McQuade was accompanied by Dr. Sonia Tulyani, Executive Assistant to Dr. McQuade, Joe Sylvestro, Vice President Pratt and Whitney (After Market), Dr. Gary Lomasney, Group Leader UTRC Measurement Sciences, Peter Teti, Discipline Chief, Supplier Quality, Raymond Keith Kersey, Principal Engineer, PW Materials Processing Center, and Krzyz Barnat, PW Operations Manufacturing Technology Manager.
