Capitol Region Council of Governments (CRCOG)
Funded by a Hartford Foundation for Public Giving Grant

Since June 2007, CID has been working in partnership with CRCOG on the project, “Assessment of Current Resources in the Capital Region for Livable Community Design Support and Building Livable Community Design Capacity.”

For CRCOG, major outcomes include:
• developing a database of livable community actions
• engaging member towns to actively apply livable community strategies
• opening dialogue between towns to provide resources and encourage collaboration in livable community actions

CID’s outcomes are:
• providing a meaningful, intense experience for students and faculty involved in the project
• developing a database of livable community actions that can be used in courses to engage more students
• promoting further opportunities for engaging individual towns in spin-off projects, providing more opportunities for students
