The University is operating on a regular schedule this morning but will close today at 1 p.m. Classes starting at or after 12:30 p.m. will not meet in person. Classes already in session will dismiss at 1 p.m. Online and remote courses are not affected by campus closings and will meet as scheduled. Please note that when a campus closing prevents an in-person class from meeting at its scheduled time, professors may opt to conduct classes or provide assignments online. Students should check Blackboard and their email regularly on such days to learn of any alternate arrangements. More on weather-related closings

for those awarded degrees in Sept. 2025, Jan. 2026, and May 2026

  • Graduate Ceremony (master's and doctoral recipients), 9 a.m.
  • Undergraduate Ceremony (associate and bachelor's recipients), 2 p.m.

Commencement 2026

The application deadline for those planning to graduate in May was Friday, Feb. 13. Please submit your late application no later than Friday, March 6, if you missed this deadline. Those students who apply after March 6 will not have their name listed in the official Commencement program.

Online ordering of cap and gown for the May 2026 Commencement ceremonies is now taking place and will continue through April 13.

Information for Graduates

Commencement 2026

Our annual May Commencement exercises are scheduled for Sunday, May 17, at the PeoplesBank Arena (formerly known as the XL Center) in downtown Hartford. It will celebrate the academic achievements of all who were awarded degrees during the 2025–26 academic year (Sept. 2025, Jan. 2026, May 2026). The Graduate Ceremony (doctoral and master's degrees) will be held at 9 a.m. with the Undergraduate Ceremony (bachelor's and associate degrees) taking place at 2 p.m.

Preparing for Graduation

Before you can walk across the stage, you need to make sure you've completed all the necessary steps for graduation.
