“One of the things I liked about the Institute for Leadership & Talent Development is that it’s set up so you can take as few or as many seminars as you’d like. Starting with one seminar is a good way to get back into a learning environment. After taking one seminar and enjoying it, I set a goal to take multiple seminars and apply them toward a certificate. I decided to take six seminars in order to earn the Certificate in Leadership Excellence.
When I went to the various seminars, I met people from different businesses and got an idea of what their industries might be like and how their industries compared or were different from my own (the education environment). From the seminars, you can get ideas and strategies from other participants that you can then go back to your own area and try.
Whether you use the seminars and certificate programs in the Institute to get into another position or to stay in the same position, the benefit is that you don’t feel stagnant. It helps you feel much more stimulated on your job."
