Connecticut law specifies that all employers must pay their employees enough to meet the state’s minimum wage requirement. The minimum wage in Connecticut is the greater of (1) a rate established by the legislature or (2)½ of 1 percent higher than the federal minimum wage, rounded to the nearest cent.

Connecticut’s minimum wage, currently $7.10 per hour, will increase to $7.40 per hour effective Jan. 1, 2006. This may affect the hourly rate paid to your students and/or temporary workers.

Payroll will automatically adjust affected individuals below $7.40 per hour to the mandatory minimum wage rate effective Jan. 1, 2006. You will not need to submit a revised Roster Form unless you wish to pay the student/temporary worker more than the mandatory minimum wage.

If you need to obtain Roster Forms, they can be found online by logging in at the University of Hartford Self-Service Center and selecting to download employment rosters from the Finance Menu.
