Hosted by Associate Prof. Ron Adrezin and Assistant Prof. Tom Filburn of the College of Engineering, Technology, and Architecture (CETA), two researchers from NASA Johnson Space Center visited the University on Friday, Jan. 20.

The researchers, Heather Paul and Lewis Kroog, were on campus to learn about the two professors’ research in various life support technologies and their applicability to future spacesuit designs.

Adrezin discussed his recent work in developing new devices to reduce the time astronauts are required to don the spacesuits. Filburn talked about his work in developing new solid absorbents that improve the efficiency of CO2 capture within the spacesuit.

Paul and Kroog are part of a team at NASA/JSC that is developing the next generation spacesuit to be used in a return to the moon and in human exploration of Mars.
