Attention: Adjunct and Part-Time Faculty
Posted 2/7/2006
A workshop will be held on Thursday, Feb. 9, for adjunct and part-time faculty who are interested in preparing applications for the Gordon Clark Ramsey Awards for Creative Excellence.
The workshop will take place at noon in the Henry Roberts Room, CC 314. It will be led by Ramsey and by Leo Smith, associate professor of mechanical engineering and former head of the Bent/Larsen/Trachtenberg Award Committee.
The award for adjunct and part-time faculty was created upon Ramsey's retirement in 2004, following his 18 years of service as secretary to the Faculty Senate. The first two awards were presented last August.
Ramsey, who continues to serve the University on a part-time basis as executive secretary of the Emeriti Association, has always been a strong advocate of efforts to enhance the status of, and provide opportunities for, adjunct faculty.
For further information, call the Faculty Senate office at 768.4475, or email gramsey@hartford.edu.
