Marlene Hall Receives Inaugural Academic Staff Excellence Award
Marlene Hall, collegiate director of communication and recruitment in the College of Education, Nursing and Health Professions (ENHP), was presented with the inaugural Academic Staff Excellence Award on Thursday, Feb. 2.
Provost Sharon L. Vasquez surprised Hall with the award during a meeting of ENHP faculty and staff. Also present to surprise Hall were her husband, Marshall V.S. Hall, and her mother, Esther Johnston.
Hall was recognized for her demonstrated commitment to the University mission and its core values of integrity, creativity, and excellence. In their nomination letters to the selection panel, faculty, staff, and students highlighted Hall’s qualities of patience, dedication, and contagious sense of pride and joy in serving the University community.
Created in 2011, the Academic Staff Excellence Award serves as one way to recognize the exemplary service and outstanding professional contributions of the University's academic staff, and their integral role in advancing the academic mission of the University of Hartford. The award comes with a $500 prize.
