Ethiopian Dancer Melaku Belay with Fendika and Ethiocolor

Virtuoso dancer Melaku Belay is a highly respected cultural ambassador for Ethiopia's traditional music and dance who has established two traditional performing groups, Fendika and Ethiocolor. Melaku's dance demonstrates that the immense musical heritage of Ethiopia can be peformed with a great degree of creativity and innovation while still maintaining its deep roots.

This concert at the University of Hartford will take place on Tuesday, Oct. 9, from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m., in Regents Commons, Shaw Center, Hillyer Hall. Come and enjoy this rare opportunity to hear and see some of the special music and dance traditions of Ethiopia.
