Photoshoot for Fifth Annual Women for Change Calendar
Women for Change is creating its fifth annual calendar!
University of Hartford faculty, students, staff, alumni, and community women are invited to be featured in the 2014 calendar. On Sunday, Sept. 29, from 12 to 3 p.m., we will be having a photo shoot in East Hall room 212B.
To expedite the process, please sign up for a 20-minute session by sending your name and e-mail address to Mo Mutema (firstname.lastname@example.org), who will confirm a time with you.
If you cannot come on Sunday but have a photo, please submit it, your story, your word or phrase (“Miss…” ) and a completed photo release form to Mala Matacin (email@example.com) by October 1, 2013. No submissions will be accepted after this date. Photos MUST be a high quality, digital photo. Photo release forms are available from Mo Mutema (firstname.lastname@example.org).
Last year’s “Free to…” calendar had the most participants ever. Let’s continue to break our record!
Women for Change’s calendars continue to receive local and national attention. This year’s theme is "Miss Represented." We are seeking women’s photos and stories of how they feel misrepresented, missed, dismissed. In what way do you feel misrepresented, missed, or dismissed by the culture? Each woman will choose a title starting with a “Miss” word (e.g. “Miss Construed,” “Miss Identified,” “Miss Nomer,” “Miss Understood,” etc.). No two people can have the same word, so be creative in your title! We ask that your story not be longer than 150 words.
Clearly, this year’s theme is also a tribute to the popular film Miss Representation and a twist on beauty pageants. To claim your title, please send it into Mo Mutema (email@example.com). If the word is taken, she will let you know.
This calendar will be sold to raise money for our organization, Women for Change. We sponsor events related to body image issues, feminism, and sexuality. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact Mala Matacin (firstname.lastname@example.org) or any of the e-board officers.
