ENHP Co-sponsoring STEM Education Conference on Monday
The College of Education, Nursing and Health Professions (ENHP) will co-sponsor the Connecticut STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) Conference at the Connecticut Science Center in Hartford on Monday, October 7, from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m.
The conference, which is designed primarily for school and university personnel, is in its second year.
Careers in the global workforce of the future will rely heavily upon preparation in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics. Teachers along the education spectrum must be prepared to teach and encourage students to enter these fields. So ENHP's Institute for Translational Research and its community partners — Hartford Public Schools, Saint Francis Medical Center, East Hartford Public Schools, the Connecticut Science Center, and West Hartford Public Schools — have brought together experienced STEM educators to provide more than 24 presentations focusing on developing STEM curricula.
A number of University of Hartford faculty, staff, and students will be part of the presentations at the conference.
