Faculty and staff receive a 10 percent discount when they enroll themselves or an immediate family member for any of these exciting summer programs, held at the dance studios of the Hartt Dance and Opera Center, 224 Farmington Ave., Hartford, and Simsmore Square, 540 Hopmeadow St., Simsbury.
In addition to a selection of summer courses for adults, youth and children, the Community Division schedule includes two workshops for the serious dancer.
The Full Force Dance Summer Intensive Program is led by Hartt’s new company-in-residence. This two-week program features high-quality faculty, diversity in training, individual attention, and an intense experience in modern dance. It is valuable training for the professionally bound dancer as well as a refreshing change of pace for the returning professional or teacher. The two-week session runs from June 19 to 30 at the Hartford location. Students may register for the entire program or individual classes.
The Summer Dance Intensive Program is for the serious ballet student, 8 to 19 years of age. Students will experience a number of different dance forms to strengthen and expand their dance training, with classes in Ballet, Pointe, National Dance, Jazz, Tap, Theatre, Repertory and Choreographic studies. The session runs from July 10 to August 4; students may register for the full four weeks or select any number of weeks. Classes are held at the Hartford location.
