Posted 9/1/2005
The University’s new ISET complex has been selected as a winner in the Build New England Awards Program 2005, sponsored by the Associated General Contractors of America (AGC).
Projects were judged according to how well the building team – owner, construction firm, and architect – worked together to enhance the owner’s investment in the project. The architect for the ISET project is William Wilson Associated Architects of Boston, and the construction is being managed by Shawmut Design and Construction, also of Boston.
Selection criteria for the Build New England Awards include: state-of-the-art advancement, excellence in project management, innovation in construction techniques or materials, excellence in client service, contribution to the community, meeting the challenges of the project, and sensitivity to the environment and surroundings.
Winning projects will receive an award in the “Performance,” “Merit,” or “Honor” category, and will be honored at a gala dinner on Thursday, Oct. 20, at the Seaport Hotel in Boston.
AGC is the nation's largest and oldest construction trade association, established in 1918. It is an organization of qualified construction contractors and industry-related companies dedicated to improving the construction industry by educating the industry to employ the finest skills, promoting use of the latest technology, and advocating building the best quality projects for owners, both public and private.
