Hartford's undergraduate admission website was designated Macromedia's "Site of the Day" for Sept. 7, 2005.
The University of Hartford's innovative undergraduate admission website was named Macromedia's “Site of the Day” for Sept. 7, 2005.

The highly interactive website, at http://admission.hartford.edu, was designed and produced by Visual Concepts Inc. of Windsor, Conn. The account manager for the project, Rob Blanchard, is a University of Hartford alumnus.

Macromedia Corporation, the maker of the popular web design software Flash®, gives the “Site of the Day” award to recognize organizations with innovative websites that effectively achieve their communication goals in highly creative and interactive ways.

Visual Concepts Inc. used Macromedia Flash MX 2004 to redesign the front-end experience for the University of Hartford’s admission website. The admission office is now able to collect data from potential students and present visitors with a dynamic way of experiencing the various aspects of the Hartford campus and student life.

You can see the write-up about the University of Hartford admission website in Macromedia’s Site of the Day archive.

The University of Hartford is one of only eight institutions of higher education to have received the “Site of the Day” award. Other schools that have received the distinction include The Juilliard School, University of California at Irvine, and the Rhode Island School of Design.
