Hillyer Students Get Advice From Mets Executive
Posted 9/22/2005
Students in Professor Woody Doane's honors class, "Sports and Society," traveled to Queens on Sept. 17 to visit with University of Hartford alumnus Gary LaRocque ’75, a scouting executive with the Mets. The former Hawk, who began his career as a player with the Milwaukee Brewers franchise, has also been a coach, manager, and vice president with professional baseball for the past 30 years. LaRocque discussed time management with the students and the challenges of operating a baseball franchise with eight minor league affiliates in the U.S. and in other countries.
